Shipboard Engineering and Systems Data
The Engineering and Data systems portion of this site will examine all of the sub-systems that are combined in a warship. Each major category can be selected from the menu on the right.
Propulsion Systems
This section covers all of the systems involved with ship propulsion to include boilers, engines, turbines, shafting, and propellers. Any system with the sole purpose of supporting these propulsion systems, such as coaling and fuel oil, feed water, and steering, are also included here.
Weapons Systems
This section covers all weaponry and weapons support systems to include guns, missiles, torpedoes, depth charges, and fire control systems. Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) and Electronic Counter Counter Measures (ECCM) are also included in this section.
Hull and Armor Systems
This section includes all hull structural components as well as armor protection systems. Support systems such as fire fighting and damage control, staterooms, berthing, messing facilities, voice tubes, ventillation, and all auxiliary support systems are also included in this section.
Electrical and Electronic Systems
This system includes electrical power generation, distribution, lighting, communications, and other auxiliary shipboard support systems.
